With reports of flooding in several parts of the country, following heavy rains overnight and for most of Thursday morning the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service is advising citizens to be vigilant as adverse weather conditions are expected to continue into Friday.
There have been reports of flooding along the Mosquito Creek in La Romaine and in areas in the south western peninsula as far as Point Fortin.
This activity is associated with the Inter Tropical Convergence Zone and conditions may become intense during the outlined period.
The MET Office has issued an Adverse Weather Alert #1 – Yellow level until 8pm Thursday and a Riverine Flood Alert #1 – Orange level that will run through till Friday 6pm.
Speaking with News Power Now, meteorologist Akil Nancoo stated that the weather conditions that we have been experiencing will continue to affect Trinidad and parts of Tobago.
The MET Office has also issued a Hazardous Seas Alert #1 – Yellow level.
