Representatives from the Transport and Industrial Workers Union recently raised the issue of asbestos at the PTSC headquarters and further testing confirmed the presence of asbestos in seven of 13 sections tested.
However test results from the Caribbean Industrial Research Institute confirmed the absence of asbestos fibers in the air.
Mr. Ramdeo made the disclosure at a media briefing at the PTSC office in Port of Spain today.
However despite the results General Manager of PTSC, Ronald Forde said the company will be taking steps to have all asbestos material removed from the compound.
Mr. Forde said the National Insurance Property Development Co Ltd (NIPDEC) will take charge of the removal of the material but PTSC will be taking preventative measures and educating staff until the abstraction.
