All Mansions of Rastafaria To Government: Consider Legalizing Not Decriminalizing Marijuana

by | Jan 10, 2019 | 1 comment

The group All Mansions of Rastafaria is calling on the government to consider legalizing, instead of decriminalizing marijuana.

Speaking at a news briefing on Wednesday, Chairman of the organisation, Clyde Noel, proposed that the authorities consider the removal of criminal records of persons who have been held with small quantities of the drug.

A former sports executive who stole $ 250 millions does not get a penalty in T&T, but somebody who is in possession of 3 grams marihuana is considered a criminal immediately. Of course this is hypocrisy, but reality in T&T. Of course this should change. The ideal solution would have been a referendum. Let the citizens decide what they consider criminal. If the citizens agree to the use of marihuana the members of government and parliament as well should comply in order to produce more wisdom after the intake of weed. Perhaps politicians will make much better decisions under the influence of marihuana than without. At least give it a go. Political decisions have to be wiser and future oriented than now. Rastaman would say marihuana helps to increase wisdom.
