Alleged Bus Thief Sent To St. Ann’s Hospital For Evaluation

The 23-year- old man who allegedly stole a PTSC bus on Saturday has been remanded to the St. Ann’s Psychiatric Hospital for evaluation.

Aaron Small appeared before San Fernando Magistrate, Nanette Forde John on Monday. He was charged  with the larceny of a 47 seater Yulong Bus valued at $978,429.89.

It is alleged that Small drove off with the PTSC bus around 9pm on Saturday, after the ignition was left running by the bus driver on the PTSC compound at Lady Hailes Avenue in San Fernando. He was later stopped by police at the Mon Repos roundabout where he was detained.

Today, Small told the magistrate that he resided in Woodbrook.

Meanwhile, PTSC, speaking with News Power now earlier today said there are stringent guidelines that should be complied with by bus drivers when operating their vehicles.

PTSC Marketing and Communication Manager, Carl Ramdeo confirmed that the Corporation is conducting its own probe into the incident.
