An Opposition MP Questions Government’s Move to Interfere with The Heritage and Stabilization Fund.

An Opposition member is questioning government’s aim when it comes to spending from this country’s Heritage and Stabilization Fund.
Prime Minister, Dr. Keith Rowley yesterday defended his government’s announcement that some $2.8 billion dollars would be used from the fund. Speaking with the media, the Prime Minister said use of monies from the fund is nothing out of the ordinary. He said it was planned for and is nothing to be upset about.
Today, former Works and infrastructure Minister, Dr. Surujrattan Rambachan is questioning what the money will be used for.
Speaking with News Power Now earlier, Dr. Rambachan said taxpayers deserve to know.

He also questioned whether government had already split the fund in two.

Meanwhile, the former Minister of Works is chastising the Tourism Minister and the Tobago of Assembly over the recent disclosure that the THA would be purchasing two hotels. The Tabaquite MP said the THA has never shown any capacity to manage such institutions.

He said the THA is clueless about marketing the island and argued that the authorities seem bent on promoting a party and lime agenda.

Meanwhile, former Tourism Minister, Stephen Cadiz also says he feels the THA should stay out of the hotel business in Tobago.
