Another fast ferry expected in two weeks to relieve Port woes

Works and Transport Minister, Rohan Sinanan

Two weeks is the time line given by Works and Transport Minister, Rohan Sinanan, for another fast ferry vessel to be in the country to operate between Trinidad and Tobago.

Minister Sinanan was asked in the Senate today by the Opposition, given recent reports of persistent mechanical failures of the T&T Express, what urgent steps are being taken to bring relief to persons using the inter-island ferry service.

The Minister explained that he has been informed that the process has started to source another vessel before the two fast-ferry vessels go on dry dock for maintenance.

Opposition Senator Khadijah Ameen also posed a question on the use of Water Taxis from San Fernando to Port of Spain.
