A fire destroyed several booths at the People’s Mall on Henry Street, Port of Spain.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene of a fire which started sometime before 8 am on Friday.
Drivers were advised to seek alternative routes as Henry Street was blocked off in order to quell the blaze.
Four booths were affected namely: City People owned by Anthony and Pauline, Fronto King owned by Troy Gregoire, Hassanali’s owned by Beverly Balcombe and Carla Bernard’s Good Vibes.
The damage has been put at about $1.4 million.
One source told News Power Now that an explosion in the kitchen of one of the booths may have been responsible for the fire.
There were no reports of injuries.
