A 28-year-old woman was shot and killed by her ex-lover on Thursday. Gabriella Du Barry- a Guardian Life agent, had left the home she had shared with the man, retiring to get family home with her only child, hopeful that she could flee the situation. In the end, she lost her life.

Du Barry was shot three times by the man, reports state, after he confronted her in her bedroom at around 10:30am. A female family member was the only other person in the house. When accosted as the man entered, she was ordered to lay on the ground, however it is understood that she ran outside, screaming for help. She subsequently heard three shots and saw DuBarry’s killer running away.

Power 102FM Digital understands that DuBarry had filed for a restraining order against her attacker, however the matter was pending in the Siparia Magistrate’s court. Three women have been killed in domestic attacks for the year thus far.
