Anti-corruption activist Afra Raymond has called for national discourse on the relationship between big business and government, in Trinidad and Tobago.
While speaking on the Power Breakfast Morning show today, Raymond noted that big companies in this country are entwined with government, and this ensures them continued wealth and a position of power.
He continued, giving the example of Andre Monteil, former Group Finance Director of CL Financial – the private company which the People’s National Movement administration at the time, bailed out in 2009.
Raymond went on to highlight how deeply entangled financier C L Financial was with the then PNM administration.
