Between the hours of 2:00pm and 8:00pm on Thursday, Acting Senior Superintendent Hodge-Griffith, Superintendent Corbette, ASP Sooker and Inspector Douglas, along with a party of officers attached to the Central Division Task Force, Central Operation Unit, Police Canine Branch and Criminal Gang Intelligence Unit, conducted an anti-crime exercise in the Central Division.
During the exercise, the party acted upon information received proceeded to Tobago Road Extension in Chaguanas.
There they observed seven men surrounding a table.
The officers approached the men and found and seized 1 Glock 9mm pistol, 1 magazine and 17 rounds 9mm ammunition.
The men who ranged between the ages of 20 and 25 were all arrested and charged for possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition.
In another location in Central, the officers also found and seized 1 Smith and Wesson revolver, 4 rounds .38 ammunition, 2 AK magazines, 58 rounds 5.56 ammunition and 6 rounds 7.62 ammunition.
No one was arrested in that matter, and investigations are continuing.
