Anti-crime exercise yields confiscation of illegal items.

NEWS GRAPHIC 15During an anti-crime exercise in the Diego Martin and St. James area officers attached to the Western Division Task Force, Criminal Investigations Department, Intelligence Unit and Police K9, conducted several interviews and searches which led to the confiscation of a number of illegal items.

Between the hours of 9:15 and 12 noon last evening, a party of officers issued 32 fixed penalty notices, conducted 59 field interviews and seized 2 magnum revolvers.

This anti-crime exercise was conducted in Diego Martin, Four Roads and St. James.

No one was arrested were made.

Investigations are continuing.

In another incident, between the hours of 12:00am and 11:00am on Monday, Ag.ASP Mohammed, along with a party of officers also attached to the Western Division Task Force, conducted an anti-crime exercise in the Diego Martin district.

During the exercise 3 Field Sobriety Tests were conducted and 30 persons were arrested for various offences which included driving under the influence, possession of marijuana, larceny (motor vehicle), outstanding warrants and possession of firearms and ammunition.

Of the persons arrested two men, ages 28 and 33 of North West Drive, were charged for possession of 1 AR-15 Rifle, 1 AK Assault Rifle, 3 Magazines, 9 rounds 5.56 ammunition and 2 rounds .45 ammunition.
