Anti-crime exercises turns out to be worthwile.

indexMeanwhile…at around 8:00pm on Wednesday a party of officers attached to the Western Division Criminal Investigations Department and Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence at Chaconia Cresent, Four Roads, Diego Martin where they conducted a search and seized 1 Taurus 9mm pistol, 1 magazine and 13 rounds 9mm ammunition.

Three men ages 19, 21 and 28 were arrested for the offence.

Later that evening around 9.20pm officers attached to the Inter-Agency Task Force Operation H.O.P.E and Strike Team executed a search warrant at the residence of a man at William Street, Laventille, when they approached the door the young man who was on several warrants began running upon seeing the officers.

Several of the officers gave chase and the man was apprehended. During the search of the house officers found 1 pistol with 16 rounds 9mm ammunition.

The 15 year old teenager of Beetham Gardens was detained and conveyed to the Besson Street Police Station.

Over in the sister Isle, the Tobago Division conducted an anti-crime exercise between the hours of 10:00am and 12mindnight on and arrested 7 persons, 6 of who were foreign nationals were charged for over staying their time.

The exercise was coordinated by Crown Point Police Station with the help of the Immigration Department.
