Anti-kidnapping squad brought in to search for missing girls

NEWS GRAPHIC 6Yesterday the search continued for the two girls who were residents of the St. Jude’s Home for Girls in Belmont who disappeared while on retreat in Manzanilla.

Now there is word that the Anti-Kidnapping squad has joined the search for Daniella Gobin, 14, of Sangre Grande and Orphilla Holder, 15, of Tobago.

Reports state that last week Thursday, the two teens were among 35 girls from the correctional institution on a two- week retreat at Carries on the Bay Hotel in Manzanilla.
The girls were said to have evaded security including police officers and ran off.

Searches carried out by all relevant authorities have so far proven futile.

Minister of Gender, Youth and Child Development Cliffton De Coteau whose Ministry organized the retreat has stated that he is confident that girls will be found soon.
