According to reports, Azim was called to an apartment building he owns, by a tenant who complained that another male tenant of a separate dwelling had been locked out of his home by his wife, and in a bid to enter, he had broken down the door to the apartment at Cancadee Road, Felicity.
Reports are that the man in question had owed several months rent and Azim has asked him to vacate the premises, despite owing the money.
On Wednesday, Azim was attacked and stabbed at the apartment building by the man. Closed circuit television cameras at the building reportedly showed Azim running away from the suspect.
He was taken to the Chaguanas Health Centre where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The 38-year-old suspect was detained by police last evening.
Central Division police are continuing investigations.
