Are the beaches in the La Brea area safe to bathe and fish in?
This is the question that is still being asked by residents and fishermen in the area after oil spills there.
La Brea Fisherfolk Association President Alvin la Borde told News Power Now this morning that one major concern is the residue left by the chemical used to clean the oil.
He has questioned whether or not the residue is harmful to residents.
He told our newsroom that he has raised the issue since fisherfolk are very concerned on the safety of the beaches.
He revealed that so far clean-up efforts after the latest oil spill is going well.
