News Power Now is reliably informed that seven of thirteen areas tested at the Public Transport Service Corporation compound at City Gate in Port of Spain, indicate the presence of asbestos.
Confirmation of this comes from P.T.S.C. Deputy Marketing and Communications Manager, Carl Ramdeo.
In an interview this afternoon Mr. Ramdeo said the Corporation’s management decided to hire the firm Green Engineering to carry out tests for asbestos.
He said P.T.S.C. officials and Transport Industrial Workers Union executive members met and discussed ways to correct problems identified without adversely affecting the operation of the service.
