Government is assuring citizens that the cabinet sub- committee mandated to procure a fast ferry vessel carried out extensive inspection, valuation and legal checks before deciding to buy a boat from Asia.

Finance Minister, Colm Imbert, speaking at the weekly post cabinet news briefing at the Diplomatic Center, St Ann’s this afternoon said the vessel should arrive in the country by April of this year.

He explained that the vessel can accommodate seven hundred passengers and one hundred vehicles.

Minister Imbert said the additional vessel will provide much needed support to the inter-island service.
