The All Trinidad and General Workers Trade Union is leaving a door open for discussions with the United National Congress before the month end deadline for them to evict from the Rienzi Complex , Couva.
ATGWU is claiming that it was never able to discuss matters relating to lease arrangement for the UNC to use the Complex.
It also maintains that the decision to evict the UNC from the Complex has nothing to do with any bitterness towards the political party.
UNC Chairman , David Lee, in a media release this week explained that the union served notice on the party that the rental fee for Rienzi Complex was being increased to 25,000.
It added that date the UNC has paid all rentals for use of the premises including the increased rental.
However, in a News Power Now interview this afternoon ATGWU President, Nirvan Maharaj, said the union remains open for discussions with the UNC before the deadline takes effect.
