Attorney Gerald Ramdeen is refuting claims made by Attorney General Faris Al-Rawi in Parliament last Friday that he had accumulated legal fees in the sum of $32 million as an attorney representing Petrotrin in the Gas to Liquid project.
Ramdeen is lashing out after Al-Rawi made the decision to refer him to the disciplinary committee of the Law Association.
He stated that the AG is in the habit of quoting inaccurate legal fees and should be wary of being reported to the disciplinary committee himself for his own indiscretions.
Ramdeen said that while he does not have an exact figure on what he has earned from state briefs he is certain that it is less than what is currently being quoted by the AG.
He revealed that previous correspondence by the AG’s office showed that fees had been double counted totaling $15 million.
