The Automobile Dealers Association is calling for Trade and Industry Minister Vasant Bharath to vacate office, but Minister Bharath says he will not go. Mr. Bharath says the association’s head Mr. Babwah is disgruntled because his Ministry made an unprecedented move and cleaned up the list of dealers. According to Minister Bharath the Ministry found that used car dealers were not adhering to the rules of engagement.
Speaking on the Power Breakfast Show on Power 102.1fm this morning Mr. Bharath said members of the used car dealers association have been selling their licence instead of using them as legitimate dealers.
Mr. Bharath said those who were removed from the list of traders are still allowed to reapply. He said he could not encourage a monopoly in the sector.
