While some are celebrating the apparent demise of many who maintain a desire to rob hard working citizens across the country, the robberies continue to be perpetrated.
On Wednesday, a man was held up and robbed of $20,000 on the compound of a church in San Fernando. He had only moments earlier withdrawn the money and had been on his way to the credit union office of the Susamachar Presbyterian Church on Carib and Coffee Streets to deposit it.
He was approached by two armed assailants who demanded the bag containing the money, before escaping in a white Nissan TIDA motor vehicle. The incident occurred shortly before 2pm, according to police reports.
Police believe that the victim was followed from the bank to the church compound.
