Bandits Set Victim’s House On Fire In Point A Pierre

NEWS GRAPHIC 10Two bandits have left a 61- year- old civil engineer to face the brunt of damages suffered to his home, after one of the attackers set the man’s bedroom  on fire this morning.

The men entered the home of Shaheed Mohammed located at Plaisance Park in Point A Pierre, at around 6 o’ clock this morning.

Mohammed’s hands and feet were bound by his attackers and he was relieved of his laptop computer valued at $4000, two cell phones valued at $3000 and his wallet containing $600 dollars cash and his bank card.

The men who were armed with a gun and cutlass then went to their victim’s bedroom, setting it on fire, before escaping on foot.

Mohammed reportedly yelled for help after the bandits had left and the police and fire officials were contacted.

Damage to the house has been described as extensive.

PC Greene of the St. Margaret’s police station is leading investigations.
