Beach resort disconnected by WASA…

salybia nature resortSalybia Beach Resort and Spa was one of 20 properties disconnected by the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA), as the Authority intensified its revenue collection drive to recover outstanding rates owed by commercial and residential customers.

The resort, located on the Toco Main Road, owes WASA almost $40,000 dollars in unpaid rates accrued over a seven month program.

According to WASA’s Head of Corporate Communications, Ellen Lewis, the 20 disconnected property owners are indebted to the Authority to a tune of $452,000 dollars and have failed to take heed of repeated disconnection notices served to them.

Ms. Lewis said a number of properties with illegal connections were also disconnected during the exercise.
