President of the Police Service Social and Welfare Association, Insp. Anand Ramasar, is calling for better selection of police officers being recruited into the force. The association president said this is needed in a bid to enhance the inter-personal skills of police officers, to treat with members of the public. His comment comes following the injury of a recently recruited police officer, who was shot and wounded during an armed robbery at a bar in Barrackpore.
On the issue of training regarding Special Reserved Police officers, Insp. Ramasar said SRP Officers are not intended to become full time officers, but rather they are meant to work on a temporary basis.
