The Banking Insurance and General Workers Union is awaiting answers from the Solid Waste Management Company on the dismissal of eleven employees.

The union claims most of the dismissed workers are women and had been employed for periods ranging from three to six years.

BIGWU contends due process was not observed adding the workers were summoned to a meeting and given termination letters.

It reveals after the workers were dismissed the company then advertised the same jobs as vaccines.

BIGWU President, Vincent Cabrera, in a News Power Authority interview indicated the union has taken up the plight of the dismissed workers and will pursue the matter with urgency.
