Political Leader of the Movement for Social Justice, David Abdullah has said that both the Government and Opposition should take the blame for what he termed a terrible piece of legislation.
He said the Judges Salaries and Pensions Bill should never have gone to Parliament and that appointing a select Committee to review the bill is not the answer.
Mr. Abdullah suggested proper consultation to address amendments to the bill.
The MSJ leader claimed that the Salaries Review Commission was sidestepped in the procedure and that should have immediately raised a red flag.
He also condemned the increases and allowances recommended in the bill.
Mr. Abdullah added that while the Judiciary acts as an independent body, the government has now put it in a difficult position
