Protesting workers of the Blind Welfare Association in Port of Spain are planning not to leave the building until they are paid outstanding monies for three weeks owned to more than fifty employees.
All Trinidad General Workers’ Trade Union Branch Secretary, Joseph “Lingo” Vautor-La Placeliere , in a News Power Now interview Monday confirmed the situation.
Mr La Placeliere said since Thursday night, about 20 workers took the decision to remain at the Blind Welfare Association North Office, located at the corner of Duke and Edward streets in Port of Spain, to highlight their dissatisfaction.
He also called for an executive member of the Association to be removed from the position or resign because of leadership inefficiencies.
