The military has been plunged into mourning following news of the death of Retired Brigadier Roland Maunday.
He died early this morning from an apparent heart attack.
Brigadier Maunday was at his Arima home when at approximately 4 am he complained of feeling unwell.
He was taken to the Arima District hospital where he died.
Brigadier Maunday served as Chief of Defence Staff from March2010 to 2011.
His successor Major General Kenrick Maharaj described Brigadier Maunday’s passing as untimely.
