Following a recent cabinet reshuffle there have been calls for the removal of several Ministers in the Cabinet most notably the Minister of Health and the Minister of Labor.
The latest comes from Caroni East MP Dr Tim Gopeesingh, who has renewed his call for the removal of Anthony Garcia as Education Minister.
Monday’s Cabinet reshuffle saw two elected Ministers and a Senator axed.
Our partners at looptt.com quote Gopeesingh as saying that the Prime Minister must continue his essential Cabinet reshuffle by the removal of the “bungling Anthony Garcia”.
The MP said the poor conditions at some of the nation’s schools are a direct result of Garcia’s inability to provide effective leadership in the repair programme.
He accused Garcia of ignoring the urgent need for restoration works at several aging buildings for the time that he has been in office, as well as abandoning the construction of schools and early childhood care centres.
The MP also criticized other measures which were discontinued, including the computer laptop grant, scrapping of the Continuous Assessment Component, abandonment of After-School Homework Centres, non-provision of new textbooks and sharp cutbacks in the School Feeding programme.
