Chief Justice Ivor ArchieLegal minds gathered at the Dana Saroop Seetahal Symposium yesterday are calling for the removal of preliminary enquiries and jury trials.

The symposium entitled “Re-engineering the Criminal Justice System,” revealed that there are over 500 people in this country awaiting trial for murder.

Chief Justice Ivor Archie said a new approach is needed to handle the situation.
