CAPE results available online from this evening…

cxc1Tim GopeesinghEducation Minister, Dr. Tim Gopeesingh says results for the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) will be available online from this evening.

Speaking to reporters yesterday at the post-Cabinet media briefing at the Diplomatic Centre in St Ann’s, Dr. Gopeesingh said the results have been sent by Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC), which is based in Barbados, and are currently with the ministry.

The Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) results will be provided to the ministry tomorrow, he said, and will be released online on Monday.

Dr. Gopeesingh said he was pleased to announce that data from the Ministry’s Department of Education Research and Evaluation have shown a steady increase in performance and participation among secondary school pupils in the CAPE examinations from 2009 to 2013.

Approximately 3,500 pupils wrote both Units One and Two, with 678 more writing Unit One and 860 more writing Unit Two.
