Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has arrived safely in the Bahamas this afternoon to attend the two-day CARICOM Heads of Government Conference.
According to a press statement issue by the office of the Prime Minister, Mrs. Persad Bissessar’s arrival was delayed because of a problem with Bahamas Air, and not Caribbean Airlines, as had been previously stated.
Mrs. Persad-Bissessar left Trinidad on Wednesday on board BW 480 for Fort Lauderdale and is said to have arrived safely.
She was however due to connect on Bahamas Air at 8.30 pm, but the aircraft developed problems and at 10.30 pm, when the problems were not corrected, the airline ruled out the possibility of flying.
Earlier today, Media Relations officers for the Office of the Prime Minister, Francis Joseph blundered, saying the problem involved the Caribbean Airlines flight taken from Trinidad.
