The National Carnival Bands Association is dismissing claims that revelers who cross the stage at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain on Carnival Monday and Tuesday will have to pay a fee to do so.

NCBA Chairman, David Lopez, in an interview on Power 102.1fm Monday said the rumor circulating is not true.

Mr Lopez explained Mas bands are required to pay a registration fee to take part in carnival competitions

The NCBA official also stated there was a proposal for the Piccadilly Greens in Port of Spain not to be used as a carnival judging point this year.

However, Mr Lopez noted a final position has not been taken as yet on the matter.
