The Police Service has adopted a guarded response to the resignation of Police Complaints Authority Director, Gillian Lucky.

Ms. Lucky reportedly tendered her resignation from the position on Tuesday.

Several attempts by News Power Now to contact Ms. Lucky for an official comment on the matter.  have proven futile.

Police Social and Welfare Association, Inspector Anand Ramesar, in a News Power Now interview on Tuesday, described the situation as a serious blow to the country’s national security landscape.

Ms. Lucky’s resignation comes on the heels of last month’s resignation of Professor Ramesh Deosaran as head of the Police Service Commission.

There have been no reports of a replacement for Professor Deosaran.

Speaking at the weekly police news briefing at the Police Administration Building in Port-of- Spain on Wednesday , TTPS  Public Relations Officer, Inspector Wayne Mystar, was cautious  in commenting on the situation.
