Even as beaches reopen to the public today, the Chaguaramas Development Authority is saying it will limit the number of people allowed to partake in the sun, sea and sand at the Macqueripe Beach Facility in West, Trinidad.

In an advisory, the CDA said the number of people allowed on the beach at any given time will be at its discretion, adding that it will ensure that the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 guidelines are adhered to “for the safety of all beach goers”.

The Public Health [2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-Ncov)] (No. 19) Regulations, 2020 issued on Monday states: a person shall not, without reasonable justification “be found at or in any beach, river, stream, pond, spring or similar body of water in congregations of more than twenty-five persons”. These regulations are in effect until June 30.
