Covid-19 has taken the life of well known Sealots resident, Cedric ‘Burkie’ Burke. The news has been confirmed by Police Commissioner, Gary Griffith and former Port of Spain MP, Marlene McDonald.

A video has been circulating on social media, since the news surfaced, which hears a young man allege, “I know allyuh kill my father boy. Corona never kill my father.”

According to reports, the 45-year-old community activist and businessman had visited the Westshore Medical Hospital and was later hospitalised at the Couva hospital where he passed away.

The government of Trinidad and Tobago has been appealing to citizens to follow the Public Health Ordinance, which mandates that masks be work in public. There has been some resistance to the law with many reports of private “zess” parties and gatherings.
