Checks are being carried out to test the authenticity of the eight Trinidad and Tobago passports found in the possession of nine persons detained in Turkey.
This latest update comes from Minister in the Ministry of the Attorney General and Legal Affairs, Stuart Young.
In July this year the Turkish media reported that nine nationals from this country were arrested in southern Turkey as they tried to join the terrorist group ISIS.
The Turkish media also indicated that a Syrian national was detained during the incident.
Minister Young said this government continues to liaise closely with its diplomatic connections to get more details on the development.
Minister Young was speaking at the weekly post cabinet media briefing held at the Office of the Prime Minister, St Clair this afternoon.
