Naya_RampersadThe Chief Fire Officer of the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service, Nayar Rampersad has said that the Fire Services Association was making a public display for issues that were already being addressed.

He said that while the issues outlined were in fact a reality, since he was installed as Chief Fire Officer last year, he has made it his duty to address all of the concerns raised.

Mr. Rampersad stated that 16 fire stations were being constructed.

He added that the issue of increments was also being addressed.

However he revealed that it would take some time as there was a backlog.

He also claimed that 8 new appliances were recently bought for the service.

Mr. Rampersad said he does not understand despite all that is being done why the Association is protesting.

Someone…please look into the Financial Mismanagement of the TTFS. Three fire stations re-painted at a cost of 3 million dollars….ludicrous. A company…GDS limited supplying parts for vehicles in TTFS that don’t exist…at 500k…Chief getting paid for every Gov’t Invoice issued…thievery…please stop the raping of our treasury…
