Chief Personnel Officer Gets New Guidelines From Government to Deal with Wage Negotiations

The government indicates that news guidelines have been given to the Chief Personnel Officer relating to on-going wage negotiations with the police and prison service.

In the past representatives of both the police and prison associations have expressed concerned about the status of the talks at the bargaining table.

During proceedings in the House of Representatives this afternoon Finance Minister, Larry Howai, was questioned on the issue by Laventille East Morvant Member of Parliament, Donna Cox.

She wanted to find out from Minister Howai what he intend to do out to bring to an end to what she described as the looming crisis arising out of the wage negotiations.

Minister Howai admitted that  some challenges were encountered along the way which affected the process.

However, Minister Howai added that new stipulations have been passed on the CPO from the government which will help the negotiations move forward.
