passportThe Ministry of National Security’s Immigration Division is advising that all citizens of Trinidad and Tobago be in possession of a Machine Readable Passport (MRP) when travelling to a foreign country.

In effect from Tuesday 24 November 2015, citizens will only be allowed to use the machine readable passports and the non-machine readable passports will be expired.

The expiry of the non-machine readable passports is to keep with the timeline and standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) for international travel.

Citizens of Trinidad and Tobago who are desirous of travelling abroad and have not yet applied for a Machine Readable Passport are strongly advised to do so; given that the old format passport will not be accepted for travel from November 24 2015.
