Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management Dr. Stephen Ramroop has said that residents affected by heavy showers over the past 48 hours are receiving assistance.
Dr. Ramroop stated that the Local Government Authorities have been organizing relief to affected residents.
Several residents across Trinidad and particularly in the Southern Peninsula, experienced severe flooding as rivers burst its banks following heavy showers.
However some residents complained that they received no relief from the authorities.
Dr. Ramroop is advising those in need of assistance to call the ODPM’s hotline.
Meanwhile Tobago also had its share of harsh conditions resulting from the severe weather.
