Attorney General, Faris Al Rawi, says the government cannot afford to go back to the Joint Select Committee with respect to the Income Tax Amendment Bill, at this time.

He explains that the clock is ticking for this country to put its house in order and present a positive update at the Global Forum to be held in Uruguay on November 20th and at another important meeting to be held in Barbados on November 19th

The AG is insisting that the bill is critical and will help avoid Trinidad and Tobago being blacklisted by the United States, adding that the impact will be widespread and severe if the legislation collapses.

Mr. Al Rawi said several organizations have already indicated its support for the legislation.
