The Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard (TTCG) also declined to confirm the presence of West Africans docked at a port in Chaguaramas.
Public Relations Officer of the TTCG Lt Commander Kirk Jean-Baptiste said the Coast Guard was not contacted on the issue.
He noted that large vessels entering the country are monitored by Customs, Maritime Services or the Port Authority.
He said smaller vessels entering the coastlines may encounter the Coast Guard.
He went on to say that precautions are taken by the Coast Guard when interacting with passengers on vessels.
