A video that is making the rounds on social media, is now leaving many questioning what’s next in Trinidad and Tobago- this as a group, of what appears to be Casino workers, assembled outside of the Maraval home of Finance Minister, Colm Imbert on Wednesday.
The video shows the group, dressed in red t-shirts with the inscription, “PNM Voter, Casino Worker”, calling on Minister Imbert to hear them out. The adult women were accompanied by their children. They are calling on the Finance Minister to reconsider the recent tax increases to the gaming and gambling industry. The increases were announced during Minister Imbert’s October 2nd Budget Presentation.
It is understood that the group’s representative was refused a meeting with Minister Imbert on Wednesday. They were also initially denied the the opportunity to leave a letter for the minister, however it is understood that Minister Imbert’s wife later allowed them to leave the letter in the mail box. finance minister
