Commissioner of Police Gary Griffith is sticking to his guns in his attempts to transform the image of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service and restore the public’s confidence in law enforcement
Speaking with News Power Now, Commissioner Griffith said he is under no illusion of the task at hand and is calling on the public to support the TTPS.
With the Christmas season bringing an increase in a number of persons converging on major shopping areas, Commissioner Griffith says through the launch of the Emergency Response Patrol Unit citizens will see a heightened police presence.
According to the Commissioner, the public can rest assured that their safety will be given priority.
Meanwhile, President of the Downtown Owners and Merchants Associations, Gregory Aboud says there is a need to push for additional security during the Christmas season.
Speaking with News Power Now he revealed that DOMA has requested a meeting with Minister of National Security Stuart Young to address this and other issues.
