Communication Workers Union leader welcomes idea of unity in labour movement

A step in the right direction, but moving towards achieving this must be genuine; this is the assessment of Joseph Remy, President of the Communication Workers Union, to an appeal from Watson Duke, Public Services Association President,  for unity in the labour movement.

The PSA head made the appeal during a media briefing recently at the union’s Abercromby Street, Port of Spain Office.

Mr Duke said he is ready to put aside differences and work with the wider trade union movement to ensure the well-being and interest of employees is properly represented.

Mr Joseph in a News Power Now interview said the comment from Mr Duke is a positive one but insisted that follow through is necessary to ensure success.
