Commissioner, Steven Williams, has been serving in an acting capacity at the helm of the Police Service for many years.

His stint at the senior position has been extended on several occasions.

Questioned on the matter by reporters after taking the oath of office, Minister Dillion said he is concerned about serious issues confronting the leadership of the Police Service at this time.

The retired Major General said emphasis will also be placed on reviewing the effectiveness of the various security systems, the performance of human capital and addressing weaknesses where identified.
