A special select committee of the Senate has been formed to review the controversial Judges Salaries and Pensions (Amendment) Bill.
Leader of Government Business Ganga Singh is expected to chair committee.
Other members of the committee are Government Senators Emmanuel George, Fazal Karim, Kevin Ramnarine, Marlene Coudray and Opposition Senators Camille Robinson-Regis and Faris Al-Rawi.
The committee has just over three weeks to deliberate on the bill and submit a report to the Upper House by July 30.
During debated yesterday Independent Senator Elton Prescott expressed his disagreement with Bill.
Instead of increasing the pension judges should be given allowances.
Mr. Prescott stated judges should not be seen as superior to public servants.
