Despite mounting calls for his resignation, Foreign Affairs Minister Winston Dookeran has declared that he will not be resigning from the Government.
Mr. Dookeran and fellow minister Carolyn Seepersad-Bachan voted against the Constitution amendment Bill in this week’s debate.
Opposition Leader Dr. Keith Rowley had said that since Mr. Dookeran had voted against the Bill he should resign.
However, Mr. Dookeran maintained that those calls are politically motivated.
The MP for Tunapuna explained that he voted again the Amendment because they did not fit in with his political beliefs.
