Rampant corruption at the Port Authority will be addressed.
President of the Tobago arm of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Demi John Cruikshank is today saying that stakeholders were given that assurance at their meeting with the Prime Minister on the sister isle yesterday.
Speaking on the Power Breakfast Show on Power 102.1FM on Tuesday morning, Mr. Cruickshank said stakeholders were told that the Port Authority would be used as the springboard to clean up other agencies like the Water and Sewage Authority.
Meanwhile Deputy Chief Secretary and Secretary of Finance and the Economy of the Tobago House of Assembly, Joel Jack has commended Prime Minister, Dr. Keith Rowley for his meeting with stakeholders, in spite of it being called a ‘waste of time’ by some business heads.
Jack l, speaking on the Power Breakfast show on Power 102.1FM, said the meeting was meant to be an open discussion to hear the opinions of Tobago’s businessmen in a bid to bring about a fast resolution to the sea bridge issue.
The Deputy Chief Secretary said the Division of Finance and the Economy are going to commission a study in an effort to ascertain the total amount of revenue lost as a result of the constant unreliable inter-island transportation.
